Who is Jen Hamilton? I had no clue until this morning.

I sat here in my home office trying to kick this crud I've had for the past week and watching those little facebook short videos (the ones where they're trying to be the new TikTok). They usually show me the stuff I like and regularly watch (Lindy and JLo, theblondebrewer, Burn the Jukebox, Elyse Myers, Raized Wrong, and various aviation clips). I spent a few hours clicking through the videos while huffing the Wal-Mart brand of Vick's Vaporub and sipping on Ginger Ale when an out-of-the-ordinary video came across. Jen Hamilton came on to some nice elevator music and dove right in to explaining how she had Google alerts her if her name pops up on the internet somewhere. I instantly thought, "Hey! Me, too!" I had to think that thought between heartbeats due to my pounding headache. I didn't mindlessly click the mouse to advance to the next video like some old man clicking through channels with his remote. I let the video play on.

Jen Hamilton (instagram) went on to explain how she finally found where her name was listed in an article in The Sun Wellsville Newspaper of Wellsville, New York. The article wasn't about her, it was about Alycia Frost, an obstetrics nurse at Jones Memorial Hospital. The spotlight was a Q&A feature, and one of the questions/responses from Alycia was:

Jen Hamilton was really touched by being on Alycia Frosts' "bucket list", and that made me wonder, "Well who is Jen Hamilton?" So, I did what any other sick person who's already slept too much, sick as all get out, and had nothing but time to kill on the last day of the year... I creeped her instagram and website. Jen Hamilton is a labor and delivery nurse in North Carolina, which due to personal prejudices, instantly lowered my expectations on her content. I was pleasantly surprised! Her insightful content was very... INSIGHTFUL! Her funny content was HILARIOUS! I mean, the woman shotgunned a Mountain Dew and swaddled a CHICKEN! She was a lot more well-rounded than I expected.

The only question I had left, at this point, is "What the hell is AWHONN?" You probably won't believe this, but they have a website! They are the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses, and their 2024 convention is June 7-11 in Phoenix, Arizona. So, for both their sakes (and many of Jen Hamilton's fans/followers), I hope Jen Hamilton and Alycia Frost get to meet up there this year!
